Thotadri is the present Mangalagiri. Lakshmi Devi has done tapas on this slope. That is the reason it got this name (The propitious slope). There are three Narasimha Swamy temples in Mangalagiri. One is Panakala Narasimha Swamy on the slope. Another is Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy at the foot of the temple. The third one is Gandala Narasimha Swamy at the highest point of the slope. The temple is in Vijayawada.

Malangiri Hill Miracles

It is said that here, God is self-existent. In the temple, there will be no sculpture of the god, yet there is just a mouth, generally opened to 15 cms. The mouth is covered by the metal substance of the god. The temple will be opened till evening just, with the conviction that devatas will perform pujas in the evening. God takes jaggery water as a contribution by a conch. The Jaggery water has really filled the mouth of the Lord, a rinsing sound is plainly perceptible as though the Lord is really drinking it and the sound gets shriller and shriller as and when the Lord is drinking. The sound will halt after some time and the equilibrium of the jaggery water is tossed out.

This wonder happens not once in a day but rather is a repetitive component over the span of the day as and when fans offer panakam (jaggery water). It will be fascinating to take note that even a solitary insect isn’t recognizable close to the Lord nor around the temple regardless of the contribution of such a lot of jaggery water. As the contribution of the panakam to the Lord is impossible to miss, the Lord here is called panakala Narasimhaswamy. There is a legend about the contribution of the panakam (jaggery water) to the Lord. It is said that the slope was before the spring of gushing lava. Sugar or jaggery water, it is said, kills sulfur intensifies found in a well of lava, and forestalls a volcanic emission.

Malangiri Hill Highest Point

On the highest point of the Malangiri hill, there is no god for the god. There is the lone place to put a Deepam. On the off chance that anybody gets torments, they go there, light the Deepam by cow ghee, and they lose the tragedies. That light is noticeable from numerous villages. Srirama Navami, Hanuman Jayanti, Narasimhajayanthi, Vaikunta Ekadasi, and Mahasivarathri are different celebrations that are praised here for a huge scope. On Mahasivarathri, Lord will go on parade on a little chariot.
